ILLUMINATED UNIVERSAL TOASTER
This vintage toaster (1918-20) has a classic vertical grill pattern on its doors, and a pleasant patina. It is an example of one of the earliest electric toasters. It now features three striking Edison-style bulbs in place of the heating elements and is completely dimmable.

We have always thought this piece resembled a miniature fireplace, perhaps intentionally so; until these were available, toasting over hot coals was the only alternative to make toast. Everyone lined up for these when electricity came along!
The front and rear doors swing downward to expose the lovely light within if desired.
A rotary dial rheostat switch on base controls the level of light, from quite bright to just barely visible.
This illuminated object is perfect for a den, kitchen bedroom, living room or bookcase. It casts a very warm candlelight-like color, and is quite cheery at full brightness.
