The base is weighted, and is finished on the bottom with a durable pressed foam neoprene rubber to protect surfaces. The grille screen is held securely in place with fasteners which may be unscrewed to allow for replacement of the bulb, some 3,000 hours of operation in the future.

Illuminated Armillary Globe
A warm coppery glow shines from the rings of this stately piece, featuring four 25w Edison-style tube bulbs arranged satellite-style around a sphere. An in-line rotary dial rheostat switch controls the level of light, from quite bright to just barely visible.
This illuminated object is perfect for a den, bedroom, living room or bookcase. It casts a very warm candlelight-like color, and can be bright enough to read by. The concentric rings are adjustable, and the sphere may be turned to adjust the angle of the tube bulbs.
It measures 19.5" tall, 17" wide (including the arrow head and tail), 12" round, and is made of an all-metal construction. All electrical materials are UL approved, and all connections are carefully tested for safety and durability. The bulbs are candelabra-style squirel-cage filament, 3.25" in length.
The armillary sphere was invented hundreds of years ago as a tool for modeling the position and motion of a heavenly body. The rings would be adjusted in order to trace the path of the stars. Some credit its invention to a Greek named Eratosthenos. Others have said that Chinese or other Greek scholars invented it. Regardless of its inventor, the armillary sphere is one of the oldest astronomical instruments in the world.
Illuminated Telephone
The dial may be used to both adjust light level and to switch the unit on and off. We recommend setting the light to your preferred level, and using the receiver to turn the light on or off.
The telephone itself is an authentic reproduction of phones of this era, with all metal construction. The logo at the top is made from solid brass, and is cut precisely to match the original NBC and CBS radio logos from the corporations' early radio days.
Few authentic spring microphones have survived into the present; those that have are rare and expensive to acquire. Illuminated Weston Voltmeter
The Illuminated Voltmeter is a genuine early 1930s vintage antique repurposed to feature three dimmable Edison bulbs arranged in line at its top. A rotary knob rheostat switch controls the level of light, from quite bright to just barely visible.
The meter needle actively measures the amount of AC voltage being delivered to the bulbs, from zero to the typical 110-120V household current depending on how much the light is dimmed or brightened.
This object is quite unique; not many such instruments are still to be found. It is ideal for an office, den, bedroom, living room or bookcase. It casts a very warm candlelight-like color, and can be bright enough to read by.
The Illuminated Voltmeter is operated by two switches: a rotary knob adjusts brightness; another allows you momentarily measure voltage by pushing it, or to maintain constant monitoring by pushing and locking it with a clockwise turn.

Illuminated Crosley Radio with Bluetooth Audio
This vintage Crosley Radio (circa 1930s) has been refitted with a high-quality 6.5-inch speaker and a 50-watt amplifier that is bluetooth capable, with a rich, full warm tone - even in a smaller enclosure than is typical for radios of the era.
It features three hairpin filament tubular bulbs in its front opening. The dial is backlit when the audio feature is turned on; a subtle tone sounds when connecting to a bluetooth source. The lighting may be adjusted for brightness as desired via the main dial.
This Illuminated Radio can play music with excellent quality from any device via either bluetooth or direct line in. Examples include a smart phone, tablet, laptop Alexa or Google Home. It comes with a shielded cord to allow direct plug in of any device that has a standard headphone output such as a phone, tablet, laptop or MP3 player. The sound quality is outstanding, especially in the mid-range where the human voice sounds best. Illuminated Wall Telephone
The Illuminated Wall Telephone is a charming piece that can not only hang easily on the wall, but sit free standing on a table as well. It even has a holder for space for cards or notes on the bottom. It features three lights - two just above the bells and one in the receiver horn. Illuminated Universal Toaster
This vintage toaster (1918-20) has a classic vertical grill pattern on its doors, and a pleasant patina. We have two examples of this piece, each with a different patina, but otherwise the same. It is an example of one of the earliest electric toasters. It now features three striking Edison-style bulbs in place of the heating elements and is completely dimmable.

While the meter on the device is no longer functional, this piece is an excellent example of one of the "tools of the trade" for electrical engineers and electricians from the 1930s-50s.

This elegant black and brass Spencer Buffalo microscope was originally built in 1921. Its main optical parts are lost to history, so we re-purposed it to become a source of light, and a salute to the spirit of inquiry and scientific knowledge.
The two custom candelabra-base bulbs are fully dimmable via the knob on the main tube. The lights may be raised or lowed using the large focus knob.
Note the adjustable mirror, which allows light from the lower bulb to be reflected in most any direction.

Illuminated Stereoscope with box
A vintage stereoscope, circa 1890. Once used to create a "3-D" effect while viewing specially printed dual-image postcards, it now features two Edison bulbs in place of the card.
When viewed through the Stereoscope, the two bulbs appear to merge into one, an especially interesting effect when two types of bulbs are used - the two appear to merge into one. A fascinating effect!
The piece includes two sets of different bulbs with different filaments. You may then choose to make the bulbs matching, or use one of each type to observe the "stereo view" effect.
Needless to say, always use care when observing the bulbs through the viewfinder - dim them to a low level before viewing, and do not view them through the viewfinder for a prolonged period. We want your eyes to last you a long time!
The box, which is hinged, may be opened and used to store your personal effects.
