Illuminated Stereoscope with box
A vintage stereoscope, circa 1890. Once used to create a "3-D" effect while viewing specially printed dual-image postcards, it now features two Edison bulbs in place of the card.
When viewed through the Stereoscope, the two bulbs appear to merge into one, an especially interesting effect when two types of bulbs are used - the two appear to merge into one. A fascinating effect!
The piece includes two sets of different bulbs with different filaments. You may then choose to make the bulbs matching, or use one of each type to observe the "stereo view" effect.
Needless to say, always use care when observing the bulbs through the viewfinder - dim them to a low level before viewing, and do not view them through the viewfinder for a prolonged period. We want your eyes to last you a long time!
The box, which is hinged, may be opened and used to store your personal effects.
All electrical materials used are certified, and all connections are designed for safety and durability. The unit has been thoroughly tested for reliability and reliability.
